2023 Resident Artist, Hayden Wilson: Opening Exhibit & Welcome Reception

As the featured Resident Artist, Hayden Wilson will be creating in the Gallery’s studio space, capturing the scenery and technicolor of life on the coast. Her paintings have spoken to many Gallery visitors and clients and her studio schedule will provide weekly opportunities to learn about her artistic vision and creative process.

“The intentions of my paintings are to celebrate the various textures, colors, and spaces of a local scene by incorporating intense saturated colors and strategic marks; the captivating works combine the highly technical with the naturally organic. I invite viewers to consider the possibility that naturally existing colors evolve and are experienced on a wider spectrum depending on lighting, setting, and mood. I strive to make the quiet areas where colors collide have their own exciting moments.”

Hayden is a South Carolina native who received her Bachelors of Fine Arts from Clemson University with a focus in oil painting.

Hayden is a wonderful addition to the experience of the Gallery at Sweetgrass and its Resident Artist Program. The Gallery looks forward to showcasing Hayden’s work, sharing the visual stories of our beautiful locale and having her make Wild Dunes a place for creativity and inspiration.
