"The Tales of Hoffman" Opera

The Tales of Hoffman” is Jacques Offenbach’s fantastical opera based on the thrilling short stories from the mind of the poet E.T.A. Hoffman. Performances will be sung by College of Charleston Opera in French with English supertitles and is presented alongside musicians from partnering Charleston Symphony Orchestra.

College of Charleston Director of Opera, Saundra DeAthos-Meers, enthuses, “‘The Tales of Hoffman’ is an extraordinary tale centered on the tortured poet, Hoffman. A mix of opera, theatre and dance students make up the cast, from freshmen to seniors alike.
