Even though Bess and Matthew were within a one-mile radius of one another for years, it took a little nudge from fate to get these two together. After a few weeks of witty banter via a popular dating app, Bess and Matthew met IRL, and it was love at first date! They went on four dates in one week and the rest, as they say, is history. After a year of courtship, Matthew proposed at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, on the first anniversary of that first date! Way to go, Matthew – perfect planning! The couple decided to wed in Charleston, they never imagined guests in masks and hand sanitizer stations at every entrance, but a pandemic can’t stop love. The ceremony was held at the Summerall Chapel at the Citadel (Matthew’s alma mater), followed by a night of celebration at the Francis Marion Hotel. Discover how the team at Engaging Events was able to (safely) weave the bride’s love of hydrangeas, gold, pink, and purple, into every aspect of this couple’s special day.
