STROLL THROUGH SPLENDOR
Doors encircled by rope molding, tabby quoins, earthquake bolts, and ornate handwrought ironwork festoon the handsome dwellings that populate Charleston.

11 a.m.
A PLACE WHERE CHARMS DWELL
One of North America’s most architecturally significant destinations, Charleston is a decorative arts repository with expertly preserved history on display at every turn. Cobblestone streets weave between confection-colored Antebellum mansions, and church steeples—not skyscrapers—dot the skyline.

1 p.m.
SOPHISTICATED SOUTHERN PALATE
Since its founding in 1670, Charleston has enjoyed a well-earned reputation for setting sumptuous tables laden with local bounty from both land and sea. Today, Charleston exudes a gravitational pull for food lovers as an American city they absolutely, positively must visit.

5 p.m.
VINTAGE GLASSWARE + MODERN COCKTAILS
Both an incubator and playground for creative talent, Charleston is home to a range of award-winning craft spirits. Meanwhile, mixologists are growing garnishes to craft “farm-to-shaker” beverages.

7 p.m.
A SERENE SEASIDE ENCLAVE
Lulled by perfumed air and a languid pace, Charleston is an unexpectedly seductive place. The city sits on a peninsula surrounded by barrier islands and gazes at the Atlantic Ocean. Locals lovingly call it the Lowcountry, an idyllic place that etches its imprint on all who visit.

8 p.m.
TASTE THE FLAVORS
From an oyster’s briny kiss born of pristine local waters to collard greens seasoned with tradition, local cuisine blends seasonal staples with heritage.
