Isle of Palms: The City of Isle of Palms offers free daily use of beach wheelchairs on a first-come, first-serve basis. Wheelchairs are available at the Fire Department Apparatus Bay at 30 JC Long Boulevard. Advanced reservations are not accepted. Learn more here.
Kiawah Island: At Beachwalker Park, both the entry ramp and boardwalk are wheelchair accessible. A limited number of beach/water wheelchairs are available to rent free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis. Advanced reservations are not accepted. Learn more here.
Seabrook Island: Seabrook Island has two handicap-accessible beach access points, off of Rolling Dune Road and the northernmost access point off of Seabrook Island Road (view map). Beach wheelchairs are available free of charge at the Rolling Dune Road access, on a first-come, first-served basis.
Sullivan’s Island: Handicap-accessible paths are located at Station 18, Station 21 and Station 26. The Town also offers access to beach wheelchairs with an advance reservation. To reserve the wheelchair, fill out the Beach Wheelchair Application and return it to Town Hall.
Folly Beach: Folly Beach features an ADA accessible beach walkover, as well as a wheelchair accessible ramp at the West Ninth Street beach access point. To inquire about free beach wheelchair rental (credit card deposit required), visit the City of Folly Beach Public Safety department at 106 W Cooper.
