The Swamp Fox Restaurant & Bar Announces New Chef De CuisineFor Immediate Release, September 2011
The Swamp Fox Restaurant and Bar located in the historic Francis Marion Hotel welcomes new Chef de Cuisine, Steve Klatt. Recently coming from Kiawah Island Resort’s Tomasso Restaurant at Turtle Point Clubhouse, he is delighted to now make Historic Charleston his home. Chef Klatt immerses himself in the creative preparation of innovative dishes showcasing Charleston’s wide-ranging cuisine. Fresh locally procured ingredients and Southern traditions are now combined and offered at The Swamp Fox Restaurant & Bar where Chef’s time and energy are dedicated to making each and every dish a memorable Lowcountry experience for our guests.
Chef Klatt grew up in Clarendon, NY, a small town 35 miles outside of Rochester NY. Enrolling in The Culinary Arts program at Paul Smith’s College in the Adirondack Mountains incited a passion for a life-long career in the restaurant industry. With his Associates Degree in hand, he made his way to Charleston and worked with some of Charleston’s well-known chefs. The Swamp Fox Restaurant & Bar is pleased to have him join our team. The restaurant is a Certified SC participant of Fresh on the Menu and every day of the week we are preparing Lowcountry specialties and delicious sides utilizing the local farms right in our own backyard.
