Ted’s Butcherblock at 334 East Bay Street in downtown Charleston is celebrating the coming of fall with a month full of with locally inspired dishes and events. The full September menu with pricing is available online at www.tedsbutcherblock.com and includes such seasonal dishes as Cauliflower, Buttermilk and Tarragon Vishyssoise; Roasted Butternut Squash and Field Peas Salad with Mint, Bacon, Toasted Almonds and Manchego Cheese; and Parmesan Grit Cakes with local CSA Vegetables, Basil and Sun-dried Tomato Crema.

Both beer and wine enthusiasts will delight in the unique twist on Ted’s Craft Beer Dinner this month. Chef Eva Keilty has crafted a menu featuring the bounty of the season’s local produce and each course will be paired with both a beer and a wine. Wine has long been considered the connoisseur's beverage of choice for pairing with fine food. However, with the increased appreciation and quality of today's craft beers, savvier consumers are starting to realize that fine beers often pair just as well with many foods. Ted’s is excited to offer Charleston's first comparative tasting of beer and wine at this four-course dinner, where diners will judge the pairing they think stands up the best to each course. The dinner takes place on Thursday, September 23 at 7:30 p.m. and cost is $48 per person. Reservations are required.

Foodie Trivia continues on Wednesday, September 8 at 7:30 p.m. There is no cost to attend and guests are invited to flaunt their gastro-knowledge while enjoying specials on beer and wine, as well as a $5 traditional Spanish tapas plate. This month Ted’s giving away a bottle of house wine (red, white or rose) to the trivia winner. Reservations are required only for groups only.

Every Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. throughout the month, Ted’s continues to host Friday Wine Tastings, where guests are invited to taste four featured wines and enjoy gourmet hors d'oeuvres for $5. Proceeds benefit Ted’s charity partner this quarter, Charleston Surfrider. Guests are also invited to enjoy Ted’s popular $12 Dinner on Fridays, featuring an entrée, sides and dessert.

Ted’s downtown location will serve as the CSA pick-up location for two local CSAs this fall, Pinckney’s Produce and Thackery Farms. The shop is offering all CSA members picking up at Ted's this season a 10% discount on featured wines of the month and 10% off all butcher counter orders on CSA pick-up days.
