For Immediate Release, May 2012www.TidesFollyBeach.com/surfcam
Curious about the beach conditions? With all the coverage Folly Beach has recently received, the Tides Hotel on Folly Beach has partnered with surfchex.com and has installed a top of the line web cam to ensure guests our beaches are doing just fine. The Tides “surf cam” can also provide locals with the current surf conditions before driving out the beach.
“Folly Beach is a natural barrier island and as such, the beach and waves are constantly changing,” states Ken Merkel General Manger of the Tides. “We’re very excited about having the surf cam at the Tides in order to show people how great the beach is at anytime. The waves may be flat in the morning but chest high later in the afternoon. This new web cam will give anyone a chance to “virtually” go to the beach everyday!”
The Tides surf cam is capable of 720p HD images with 15 frames per second, which brings the beach to life. The camera is mounted on the Tides at Folly Beach and pans and zooms twenty-four hours a day. By going through a series of presets starting at the pier and moving its way west, the camera is able to capture the
full mood of the beach.
From views of the pier, to kids playing in the shorebreak, or surfers checking the waves, Folly’s beach conditions are just a click away at www.TidesFollyBeach.com/surfcam. If you are on the go, you can check out the HD live cam from your iPhone, iPad, or Android device.
