Ten years ago – just three days after Fish’s owners bought the restaurant’s 1837 building – a demolition permit arrived in the mail. Thankful for the fortuitous timing, Randall Goldman pushed forward with the restaurant's plans and a clear vision of what Upper King Street could become.

This August, Fish toasts the triumph. The celebrated seafood restaurant, which specializes in sustainable seafood and fish, toasts to its tenth anniversary of providing guests with one of the most exceptional dining experiences in Charleston. To celebrate, Fish is offering a $25, 3 course prix fixe, Mercy of the Chef, every night next week.

Since opening its doors in Charleston in August of 2000, Fish has enjoyed success as one of the pioneer restaurants of the culinary scene on Upper King Street and contributes to the local vibrant streetscape. Under executive chef Nico Romo’s cultivation, Fish has set high standards of excellence for cuisine and service. In 2009, Romo, a native of France, received the honor of master chef of France. He is the youngest to receive this title and is among only 500 in America to reach this status, as well as the only chef in South Carolina to achieve this honor.

The menu at Fish boasts dishes that reflect bold French-Asian flavors in a unique style. Featuring locally-sourced seafood and produce, Fish is much more than just seafood. Guests may also enjoy farm-raised beef, pork and organic chicken, alongside vegetarian and vegan choices. Fish’s menu celebrates sustainable, yet eclectic fare prepared to emphasize the diverse bounty of each season.

The creative menu changes with each season and is reflected with items such as a local pan seared Red Porgy served with roasted cauliflower and haricot verts or bouillabaisse featuring local fish as well as scallops, shrimp and clams. The innovative $10 prix fixe lunch offers a choice of moo shu, chopped salad, and soup - a favorite among locals and visitors to the area.

Each dish on the dinner menu pairs perfectly with a wine from Fish’s extensive list. Guests may choose from a wide variety of wines that range from sparkling wines to full-bodied reds, all from vineyards across the globe. In addition to the wine selection, Fish offers several signature drinks and cocktails.
