Calling all young archers! This November, the Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission is set to introduce an archery competition called the Turkey Day Shootout, and the winners bring home Thanksgiving dinner.
7:00pm until 9:30pm
The contest will be open for ages 10-18, and the competitor with the highest score in each age category will receive a frozen turkey!
Competitors will use provided bows and arrows that are part of the Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission (CCPRC) archery program.
Categories will be age groups 10-12, who will compete from 9 – 10 a.m.; ages 13-15, from 10 – 11 a.m.; and 16-18, who will compete from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Nov. 16. Each category will offer male and female subcategories.
Archers will shoot 15 arrows from distances of both 10 and 15 yards. Five arrows from each distance will be a warm-up and the following 10 arrows will be scored.
Online registration is open now and ends on Nov. 13. Advance registration is required to participate. Competitors who register prior to Nov. 8 will receive a competition t-shirt.
