Event Details

A Morgan Stanley board member, a former Delaware Supreme Court Chief Justice, and a member of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board are among the nationally renowned leaders participating in The Citadel Directors’ Institute (CDI) to be held May 1. Registration is currently underway for the one-day program which is hosted annually by The Citadel School of Business. This will be the sixth year for the event which will take place from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Charleston’s Francis Marion Hotel located at 387 King St.

CDI is designed for public and private company corporate directors and their executives to connect and discuss emerging issues and best practices in board oversight. This year’s program will give business leaders the opportunity to participate in discussions focused on emerging cyber security threats, new developments in corporate governance, succession planning, and business ethics.

There will also be two sessions for board members and executives with regional and community banks, and there will be four sessions covering important new issues:

·The Effect of New Regulations in Setting CEO and Director Compensation
·Emerging Trends in Multi-Forum Litigation
·Expansion of Aiding and Abetting Breaches of Fiduciary Duty—a Warning to Directors and their Advisors in Mergers & Acquisitions Scenarios
·The Impact of New Auditing and Accounting Standards

CDI is different from other programs in that it provides an intimate setting where participants can interact with nationally recognized experts throughout the day, building relationships that would otherwise not be possible.
