Come learn about the breakdown of the first major battle between the United States Army and the People’s Army of Vietnam/North Vietnam during the Vietnam War. The Battle of Ia Drang Valley took place between November 14 and November 18, 1965 and involved close air support by U.S. aircraft and a strategic bombing strike by B-52s.
We are proud to announce that the members of the First of the U.S. Seventh Cavalry will hold their Fiftieth Anniversary Reunion on board the USS Yorktown. On April 17 we will host a symposium with unit members participating along with their heroic wives. At least one Medal of Honor recipient is planning to participate. This event will be widely attended so arrive early.
All of the symposiums, which are produced by the Patriots Point Institute of History, Science, and Technology, are free to the public. We anticipate that seats for these events will fill fast, so come early. All symposiums are held on the historic aircraft carrier USS Yorktown. Please come and meet these heroes.
