The 9th installment of Taste of the World, the Charleston Port & Seafarers’ Society’s largest annual fundraiser, is coming to Alhambra Hall on Thursday, November 13, 2014. The purpose of the event is to raise funds for the Charleston Port & Seafarers’ Society (ChaPSS), an organization that welcomes and serves the needs of thousands of men and women who make their livelihood in the port or at sea.
The Taste of the World event will provide an estimated 300-400 guests with the opportunity to sample a variety of different cuisines from some of Charleston’s best restaurants, as well as win prizes and participate in a silent auction. The silent auction will feature a variety of exclusive prize packages, including: trips for two to a South African Photo Safari; signed USC and Clemson footballs; a round of golf at Stono Ferry; a boat trip for 48 on the Osprey; week-long getaways to Myrtle Beach, Kiawah Island, and Williamsburg; furniture from Stuckey Brothers Furniture, and much more.
Tickets to the event will be sold for $50 each, and separate tickets will also be sold for raffle items.
