Talk Like a Pirate Day with Weekend of Events

National “Talk Like a Pirate Day” takes place on Friday, September 19, and Blackbeard’s Cove Family Fun Park will be celebrating by offering a weekend full of family-friendly events September 19 – 21. The weekend kicks off on Friday, September 19 as Mount Pleasant police officers will be on-site to read pirate books to children ages 5-11 from 6-7:30pm. Families in groups of 6-8 are also invited to participate in a scavenger hunt at 7pm, and the winning family will receive special prizes. Families interested in signing up for a scavenger hunt on Friday or Saturday must reserve their spot by Wednesday, September 17 by calling Blackbeard’s Cove at 843-971-1223 or by emailing [email protected].

The festivities continue on Saturday, September 20, as Blackbeard’s Cove will host special guests Captain Bob and Eric the Pirate, who will be making balloons for children from 3-5pm. Two more family scavenger hunts will also be offered at 11am and 5pm, with prizes awarded to the winning families. In addition, any guests who come dressed as a pirate during the weekend will receive free putt-putt.
