Charleston County Parks is offering opportunities for the public to join the ranks of some of the most spirited athletes around – sprint triathletes!
The new Sprint Triathlon 101 Clinic offers people who are interested in competing in a sprint triathlon the ability to receive professional, on-site training on the actual Charleston Sprint Triathlon race course. Courses will be instructed by renowned fitness coach and athlete Anne Moore. Moore is a USA Triathlon-certified coach who has competed in many events ranging from sprint triathlons to ironmans. Moore coaches triathletes of all levels and distances and is also head coach of the MUSC Triathlon Training Program.
Held at James Island County Park, the five-week clinic is on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning April 28. Course registration includes entry into one Charleston Sprint Triathlon race, held at the park this summer.
Each participant receives professional land-based and race course specific instruction for competing in the Charleston Sprint Triathlon Series. Classes go from 5:45 – 6:30 p.m. and registration is open for ages 16 and up.
