The Old Village Post House will begin the 2015 wine dinner series Wednesday, April 15th at 6:30 p.m. for an exotic vegetarian menu composed of dishes inspired by the Indian Spice Coast.
Chef Forrest Parker will present a five course feast with carefully selected wine pairings using a variety of produce and spices. This culinary journey through the Malabar Coast will begin with a reception where we will serve chaat, an assorted array of savory appetizers, along with sparking wine. Upon seating, a soup course of chilled buttermilk strawberry rasam will be followed by matar panner uttapam, which is comprised of a rice and dal flour base topped with greens and sunchoke vinaigrette.
The entrée course will be served as traditional southern Indian sadhya, a composition of several dishes. A variety of options, such as Kerala fried cauliflower, rava masala dosa (a thin crispy crepe served with a spiced peanut coconut chutney) and forbidden black lentils will be presented to each table. Dessert is a delightful Alphonso mango curd with groundnut brittle and coconut anglaise.
Tickets are $70 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Reservations are required and may be placed by calling 843-388-8935.
