REDy to Wear Party and Red Party

On Friday, October 24, the American College of the Building Arts will be hosting an 18th century masquerade ball a la Versailles to raise funds and awareness about traditional building and artisan craft in today’s society. Themed “Anarchy In Charleston”, this will be the last Red Party to be held at the Old City Jail before the college moves their campus to upper Meeting Street.

The Red Party designer and steering committee chair, Cortney Bishop, will draw inspiration from the queen of luxury herself, Marie Antoinette, and will feature overflowing champagne, decadent French-inspired foods from local restaurants and caterers including MOSAIC, wine and spirits by RNDC, a live classical/punk music performance by Entropy Ensemble, the DJ stylistics of DJ C-Nile, a silent auction, and a private VIP salon with table games and, most importantly, cake! With decor from OOH Events and Sperry Tents of the Southeast, and audio and visual designs by TEC- Technical Event Company, guests are sure to be transported back in time to the grandeur and excess of the 18th century French nobles.

Charleston restaurants and bars will also show their support for the fundraiser as their top mixologists compete in the Red Party Specialty Cocktail Contest. Each Monday, beginning August 18, a participating restaurant or bar will showcase their cocktail from 6-8pm for a complimentary tasting. The public can vote for their favorite cocktail and stay up-to-date on all of the Red Party activities at https://www.facebook.com/SupportACBA. The final showdown between the top three finalists will be on Oct. 14 at Victor’s Social Club during the REDy to Wear Affair.

The countdown to the Anarchy in Charleston begins on September 4th as tickets go on sale for $90 for general admission and $180 for VIP...coincidentally this is also the day in history anarchy began and the French started their revolution.

Tickets may be purchased at the website provided.
