To commemorate the Star-Spangled Banner's bicentennial, Americans around the U.S. will join together in the singing of our national anthem.
The event begins at 2:30 when the Green Knights, an active military motorcycle club, arrive at the Museum escorting an American flag that flew over Camp Ramadi in Iraq. This flag will become a part of the Museum's collection and join our latest exhibit, Unfurled: Flags from the Collections of the Charleston Museum.
The event culminates with the singing of the Star Spangled Banner along with local musicians and will be broadcasted live to the National Mall in D.C. The event is a collaboration between the Smithsonian, the Charleston Museum, and Backpack Journalist.
