World renowned flutist, Paula Robison and pianist, Irina Pevzner will pay a recital entitled "American Treasures" on Friday, April 10 at 7:00 PM in the Simons Recital Hall the College of Charleston.
Sponsored by the South Carolina Flute Society, the concert will kick-off the Society's Spring Flute Festival on April 10 and 11. Ms Robison has led a long and stellar career as soloist, chamber musician, recording artist and concert promoter. Among her numerous awards and accolades, Robison cherishes her title of honorary life citizen of Charleston, a result of her stint as co-director of the Spoleto Noontime Concerts. Currently a professor of flute at the New England Conservatory in Boston, Ms Robison is a noted flute pedagogue and will be leading a master class session on Saturday morning.
The Festival will also include a large selection of workshops, competitions, exhibits and recitals. Open seating tickets for the concert will be available at the door and are $25 for adults and $15 for students. Cash or check only. Generous support is provided by the College of Charleston.
