On The Verge

The Footlight Players, South Carolina’s longest-producing theatre company, is thrilled to open their new Footlight Fringe series with the comedy, On The Verge, written by Eric Overmyer. Tommy George directs three “sister sojourners” in a frolicsome jaunt through a continuum of space, time, history, geography, feminism and fashion. On stage September 4, 5, 6, 11,12 & 13 at 8:00 PM and September 7 & 14 at 3:00 PM.

On The Verge is a time-travel fantasy about three women who set off to explore “Terra Incognita,” not realizing they have warped into 1955 American pop culture. As they move through time and the outback of mid-century America, they recount past adventures. As the ladies progress on their travels it becomes apparent that they are not on an ordinary journey. The cast includes Sarah Coe as Mary, Brianne Wilson as Fanny and Danielle Festa as Alex. Robert Prevatt plays several characters including a troll, a yeti and a fortuneteller.

All performances will be held at the Footlight Players Theatre, 20 Queen Street, Charleston, SC 29401. Ticket prices are $20 for adults and $15 for military, seniors, and students and can be purchased online at the website provided or by calling the number listed above.
