Early Morning Bird Walks at Caw Caw
Our trek through many distinct habitats will allow us to view and discuss a variety of birds, butterflies, and other organisms. A paid chaperone is required for participants ages 15 and under. Registration is not required.

Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) Instructional Classes: Intro to SUP - Level 1
This fun and relaxed class will get you started with instruction on safety and the proper paddling technique that will allow you to progress comfortably at your own pace. Pre-registration required.

Unveiling McLeod Plantation Historic Site: The 55th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Regiment
Following the 1863 Emancipation Proclamation, African Americans from the North and the South joined the fight for freedom. We'll explore the experiences of this African American regiment, after Charleston's fall, while it was headquartered at McLeod Plantation. Pre-registration required.

Sea Kayak Instructional Classes: Kayak Bracing and Rudders
Learn the tools necessary to stay upright and in control in various coastal conditions! This course may be taken as a stand-alone learning opportunity or as part of an eight-week series building toward an ACA skills assessment. Pre-registration required.

Disc Golf League: Week 7-8
Our leagues are designed to be fun, challenging, and rewarding of all skill levels. Enjoy our 18-hole course with other local players. Compete for prizes and to claim your spot on the league trophy. PDGA membership is not required, but members will get points toward their ranking. On-site registration only. This is not a drop-off program; on-site chaperone is required for participants ages 15 and under.

Canoeing At Caw Caw: Caw Caw Sunset/Moonrise Paddle
Witness the sun as it slips below the trees of Caw Caw Swamp and watch the moonrise over Tea Farm Creek. A registered and paid chaperone is required for participants ages 15 and under. Enjoy an interpretive paddle at dusk.

Canoe Programs: Long Savannah Interpretive Canoe Tour
From Bulow Boat Landing, we'll paddle through woodlands and amongst the old rice fields that once covered the area. With its remoteness, and help from our interpretive guide, this trip will surely offer some wonderful wildlife sightings.

Fishing on the Cooper: Spring Fishing Kickoff
A Lowcountry expert will be on hand to share techniques that will make fishing the Mount Pleasant Pier a fun and rewarding experience. An adult chaperone is required for participants ages 15 and under. Registration is not required.

Introduction to Climbing
Learn about gear, basic knots, technique, and how to belay. After completion, you will be prepared to take a belay test upon you next visit to The Climbing Wall. Pre-registration required.

Walk and Restore
Restorative yoga professionals lead participants along short walking loops, stopping intermittently to stretch, relax, and practice restorative yoga to build strength, flexibility, balance. Register for six or more classes and receive a discount. Discount not available online; call (843) 795-4386.

Yoga Unplugged

Short Circuit
This 45-minute class is designed to maximize calorie burn in an efficient get-in, get-out style. Work every major muscle group and leave with a renewed sense of energy. Register for six or more classes and receive a discount by calling 843-795-4386.

After School Adventures: Stand Up Paddleboarding
After your school day ends, come to the park and have some fun on stand up paddleboards. We'll learn basic paddling skills as we splash around on the water. Pre-registration required.

How to Belay
Learn to belay in this abbreviated version of our popular Introduction to Climbing class. Pre-registration required.

College Days
Climbing is a fun way to get into shape and to meet new people. It is also a great social activity. Students with a current ID will receive a free harness and shoe rental with the regular price of admission. Registration is not required.

Night Climbing
Enjoy an evening under the stars at The Climbing Wall! Try your favorite route from a different perspective. Equipment is not included in climbing fee. Bring your own headlamp/flashlight. Registration is not necessary.

Folly Beach Bird Walks: Lighthouse Inlet Heritage Preserve
This walk focuses on the incredibly diverse northeast end of Folly Island. Hopefuls include Wilson's Plover and Painted Bunting. A chaperone is required for participants ages 15 and under.

Youth Archery
Youth will learn the basics of archery and have the opportunity to receive coaching, practice, and hone their skills. Basic equipment is provided for use during class. Pre-registration required.

Praise House to Play Ground: Call and Response Music
This musical style, popular at places like McLeod Plantation, found its way to the worship house and into the games children play. Come prepared to sing and play! A registered and paid chaperone is required for participants ages 15 and under. Pre-registration required.

Family Climbing: Family Belay Lesson
Spend time together climbing and learning new skills! Children ages 4-13 will climb while parents learn to belay. Children ages 14 and up can learn to belay as well as climb. A registered and paid chaperone is required for participants ages 15 and under. Pre-registration required.

Tiny Tot Olympics
Fun, active, Olympic-style group event for school and childcare groups. Teams rotate through activities such as basketball hoop throw, obstacle course, golf putt, trike race. Event includes athlete parade and participation awards. Group registration is required no later than 2 weeks prior to the event by calling (843) 795-4386.

Wannamaker Bird Walks
Join an expert to search for a variety of birds along the trails of Wannamaker, a known hot spot for migrants. A chaperone is required for participants ages 15 and under.

Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) One Design Race Series
Join us for a friendly SUP competition in the race series: the BIC SUP One Design Challenge. All competitors will use the same board design and gear. Competitors will be entered into a national drawing for a stand up paddle board.

The Preservation of McLeod Plantation Historic Site
Historic preservation architect Glenn Keyes will present on the work his firm undertook to stabilize and preserve the interiors and exteriors of the buildings at this site, which is on the National Register of Historic Places. Pre-registration required.

Basic Sailing Level 1
Learn basic sailing nomenclature, along with rigging and de-rigging skills, safety, and the basics of tacking, jibing, and docking. Pre-registration required.

Wilderness First Aid
This intensive 2-day hands-on certification, taught by Wilderness Medical Associates, covers how to deal with medical emergencies in the wilderness, at summer camp, or on the trail. Class supplements lectures with realistic simulations. Pre-registration required.

Master Naturalist Sampler: Naturalist Training at Palmetto Islands County Park
The hammock islands and salt marshes of this park provide a superb outdoor classroom for learning how to read landscapes. Walk away with a greater understanding of your natural surroundings. Pre-registration required.

Photography Series: Sunset Session
Awaken your senses to the natural and cultural world while stretching your photographic eye. Bring your camera and let a park naturalist lead you to inspirational locations. A registered and paid chaperone is required for participants ages 15 and under. Pre-registration required.

Alligator Adventure
Search for alligators as we separate fact and fiction on this journey to learn why these large reptiles carry the special title of 'keystone species'. A registered and paid chaperone is required for participants ages 15 and under. Pre-registration required.
