Charleston County Waterparks Open Weekends Only!

Splash Zone Waterpark at James Island County Park, Splash Island at Mount Pleasant Palmetto Islands County Park, and Whirlin’ Waters at Wannamaker County Park are now open weekends only in May! Splash Zone will open daily beginning May 21, Whirlin’ Waters and Splash Island open daily beginning May 28. www.splashparks.com

Free event! Join us after work at the James Island County Park dog park for live music and beverages available for purchase. Outside alcohol or coolers are prohibited. No pre-registration required! Simply pay the gate admission upon arrival. Free with regular park gate admission.

Dance under the Stars

Special needs participants and their families and friends are invited to get the summer started off right with a special night on the pier! Dance the night away under the stars while enjoying your favorite music. This event is co-sponsored by the Lowcountry Special Needs and Adaptive Programming Coalition. Only 300 tickets will be sold. Advance purchase is recommended. A registered and paid chaperone is required for participants ages 15 and under. Pre-registration required. Fee: $5/$4 CCR Discount/$5 on-site (if available)

Summer Pier Kickoff Tournament
Folly Beach Fishing Pier
Saturday, May 19, 6 a.m. – 4 p.m.

It’s the kickoff of the summer’s fishing tournaments at the Folly Beach Fishing Pier! Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: Adult Angler, Lady Angler, Youth Angler (12 and under), Senior Angler (60 and over), Total Weight of five fish, and King Mackerel. Tournament held rain or shine. Online registration ends at midnight May 17. On-site registration begins at 6 am. Tournaments end at 4 p.m.. Prizes awarded at 4:15p.m.. For ages 3 and up. An adult chaperone is required for participants ages 15 and under. Fee: $12/$9 CCR Discount: ages 13 & up; $9/$7 CCR Discount: ages 3-12; $14/$12 CCR Discount: King Mackerel

Spring Fishing Kickoff Tutorial

Mount Pleasant Pier

Free event. A Lowcountry expert will be on hand to share techniques that will make fishing the Mount Pleasant Pier a fun and rewarding experience. Learn some new techniques to land a big one. For ages 3 and up; an adult chaperone is required for participants ages 15 and under. Parking fees at the Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park still apply.

Mullet Hall Open Trail Ride
Friday – Sunday, May 25-27. Departs 12p.m. Friday.
Mullet Hall Equestrian Center

Bring your horse, camping gear, and supplies for two nights of camping and trail riding on 20 miles of beautiful, wooded trails. Full restrooms and shower facilities available. A limited number of hookups are available for $20 per night. You may also camp in the primitive area for a fee of $10 per night. Stalls available for horses. Pre-registration required by 12 p.m. on
