Chamber Music Charleston is set to host its sixth annual Little Mozart Circus this weekend, a free, family-oriented event that's all about celebrating the music-based educational opportunities in Charleston.
The event will feature a variety of mini-performances under the Main Tent, interactive performance opportunities under the Side Tent and numerous small tents hosted by local music schools and arts organizations.
Performing ensembles include the Charleston County School of the Arts Orchestra, Lowcountry American String Orchestra, Hungry Monk Bluegrass YOST, Leonard's Band and Hungry Monk Fiddlers. A highlight of Little Mozart Circus is the annual "Suzuki Play-In," where violinists of all ages are invited to join in the fun and share the joy of playing Suzuki pieces on stage in front of an audience.
Participation is free and advance registration is encouraged but not required. Another popular aspect is the "Instrument Petting Zoo," where attendees can try their hand at playing a variety of instruments.
8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
