Beach Nesting Birds of South Carolina. Felicia Sanders, Coastal Bird Coordinator for South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, will give an overview of some shorebird and seabird nesting on our undisturbed beaches and dunes and in particular the natural history, population level, conservation status and research focus of the American oystercatcher and Wilson’s plover. Francis Marion Caravan Auto tour! Join us on a tour of a just a smidgen of the your national forest! From the Sewee Center the caravan tour will encompass prescribed burn woods flourishing with flowers, first pine thinnings now open to the sunlight, longleaf pine forest with a residual tar kiln, and red-cockaded woodpecker habitat sites.
