Holiday Event at Fort Sumter

History comes alive before your eyes at Fort Sumter on December 14. Take a step back in time and discover how Christmas was celebrated in at Ft Sumter 150 years ago.

Your adventure begins at the Fort Sumter Visitors Center at Liberty Square where you board the Spirit of the Lowcountry for your transportation back in time to Christmas, 150 years ago. During the cocktail reception on your way to the Fort a National Park Service Ranger will set the scene. At the Fort, re-enactors representing Union & Confederate soldiers share their experiences of Christmas at Fort Sumter.

After touring the Fort, a delicious three-course, southern-style dinner will be served during a cruise through Charleston Harbor. Rangers will be available to answer questions on the return trip to Liberty Square. Don’t miss this unique opportunity of exploring Fort Sumter by lantern light in this exclusive after-dark tour of the Fort.

Boarding will begin at 4:15 pm. The total cruise time is 4:45-8:30 pm. Price per person is $65.00 plus tax and no cancellations accepted after 5:00pm on Wednesday, December 11th, 2013. Visit the website list above for additional information.
