Don't Cry For Me

War. Love. Lust. Heartache. Published in 1936 Gone with the Wind, the novel by Margaret Mitchell paints a whirlwind picture of southern belle, Scarlett O’Hara’s life in the south during the Civil War.

On December 15, 1939, David Selznick, Victor Fleming, and Ben Hecht revealed their masterpiece film of the same said novel to an anxiously awaiting Atlanta audience. But the journey from novel to screen didn’t come without struggle and heartache.

Producer David Selznick is in a pinch. He hates the screenplay. He will go to any length to get it right,
including kidnapping, forced labor, and not so good Scarlett O’Hara impressions. With accomplices director, Victor Fleming, and secretary Mrs. Peabody, the topsy-turvy trio must act out Gone with the Wind for screenwriter Ben Hecht, who never read the book.

Local director Robin Burke and seasoned actors Nat Jones, Jay Danner, Brendan Kelly, and Sarah Coe bring the laughter to life, as this fast-paced show will have you guffawing till your sides spit! LET THE COUNTDOWN BEGIN!

Showing are evenings at 8pm, and Sundays at 3pm.
