Discover Colonial Charleston

Charleston, or Charles Town, as the city was named until 1783, has a rich and unique colonial heritage. The Old Exchange Building (c.1771) and the Powder Magazine (c.1713) are two sites that focus on the lives and times of early pioneers and patriots. In an effort to encourage exploration of this crucial period of American history, both of these historic sites are opening their doors to locals for one day at an exclusive price!

S.C. residents, with a valid ID, are invited to be part of this special day, Saturday February 1, for the flat rate of just $5.00. Children ages six and under are admitted free. Your $5.00 buy will buy admission to both museums (9 am- 4 pm), a Colonial Charleston scavenger hunt that connects both museums, and ongoing children’s programming.

Tickets can be purchased at the Old Exchange Building the day of the event, or in advance by phone 843.727.2165. For additional information, please visit the website listed above.
