City of Charleston Farmers Market Hosts Second Annual Harvest Fare featuring Award-Winning Local Chefs

The second annual Charleston Farmers Market Harvest Fare will take place Saturday, Nov.14 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Admission free and open to the public, the Harvest Fare, co-sponsored by Stage Presence, will highlight market vendors, their produce and local chefs in a series of cooking demonstrations. The demonstrations, hosted by John LaVerne, owner of Culinary Tours of Charleston, include:
- 9:30 a.m.—MELT Down: Market vendor and MELT Chef Nathan Albertson prepares seasonal, market inspired dishes from your everyday kitchen.
- 10:30 a.m.—From Farm to Plate: Craig Diehl, Executive Chef at Cyprus Restaurant takes Fields Farms organic produce and creates a delicious surprise.
- 11:30 a.m.—Organic Table: Mike Lata, FIG Executive Chef joins forces with organic herb vendor Lee Burbage to honor the Southern tradition of growing organic.
- 12:30 p.m.—Swamp Fox Dessert Treat: Chef Ryan Kacenjar prepares a sweet treat to savor at your harvest table.

We are glad to showcase these highly creative local chefs who offer not only their time, but share their ‘tricks of the trade’—it’s a real treat!”
