The Charleston Museum invites children ages 8 and older to "Sweetgrass Baskets: Hands on History Workshop" on Saturday, February 22, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Participants will create their own sweetgrass basket with help from local artisan Sarah Edwards-Hammond, who will also share the history of this local art form. The workshop is part of a series where children can get their hands on history. Each workshop features a local artisan and a specialized tour of Museum collections. The workshop is $20 for Museum members and $25 for non-members (adults may attend and pay the child rate). Advance registration is required.
