Charleston Horticultural Society presents Gardens for Gardeners Fall Tour
In Your Date Range
The Charleston Horticultural Society’s tenth annual “Garden for Gardeners” Tour will be held Sunday, October 3 from noon to 4 p.m. This self guided walking tour offers guests a chance to see some of the Lowcountry’s most beautiful private gardens, most of which are created and maintained by gardeners themselves. The tour will focus on the gardens of Mazyck Wraggborough and will include gardens rarely open to the public. This area is downtown, but a bit off the beaten path so relatively undiscovered. The tour will be immediately followed by an afternoon reception.
Mazyck Wraggborough, with its numerous fountains and public gardens, has the distinction of being known as the Garden District. Founded in the late 1700s it was popular for wealthy families seeking suburban living. Nestled in among the colonial and antebellum homes, you will find a diverse collection of gardens and garden styles. Join us as we take a closer look at this horticulturally rich neighborhood and visit 8-10 private gardens on Sunday, October 3 from noon- until 4 p.m. Charleston Horticultural Society members $25 pp and non members are $45.
