On Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 1pm Chamber Music Charleston will present their third “Classical Kids Concert” at Circular Congregational Church, 150 Meeting Street, downtown Charleston. This series brings together live classical music and great story telling in a relaxed, family-friendly environment.
The concert includes an introduction to the instruments of a string quartet followed by selections of familiar songs arranged. The string quartet plays music of Johannes Brahms and illustrations by Gijsbert van Frankenhuyzen are projected onto a screen as an actor brings to life the incredible story of the Berlin Airlift and one special U.S. Pilot – Lt. Gail Halvorsen – who brought hope and joy to countless German children.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children 3 and above and free for children under 3. Group rates are available ($8 adult tickets and $4 child tickets for groups of 4 or more). Tickets are available by calling (843)763-4941 or online at www.ChamberMusicCharleston.org. Tickets will also be available at the door.
