The Charleston Museum will host two Calligraphy Workshops on Saturday, November 9. This event is taught by professional calligrapher Natasha Lawrence.
Introduction to Calligraphy will be held 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and participants will explore the practical art of calligraphy to address personal correspondence. Lawrence will provide instruction on writing with calligraphy pens in the classic Italian Italics lettering style.
During the afternoon Calligraphy II: Holidays, Weddings & Celebrations workshop (1:00-4:00 p.m.) students can step up to the next level of "beautiful writing." This themed workshop includes instruction in cursive calligraphy and fancy lettering, adding flourishes and accents to simple letters and embellishing envelopes for any occasion.
Each workshop is $30/member, $40/non-member. Advance registration is required. Register online through the calendar of events at the website listed or call 722-2996 x235. Early registration is strongly encouraged as sessions typically sell out quickly. These workshops are designed for adults.
