The Charleston Museum Institute offers a Beginner Natural Dyes Workshop with local fiber artist Kristy Bishop on Saturday, November 16, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Participants will learn about mordants and afterbaths, as well as dye protein and cellulose fabrics and yarns. Onion skins, eucalyptus, avocado skins and seasonal plants will be used to dye a silk scarf and personal recipe cards with samples attached.
All materials and supplies are provided by the instructor. $50/member, $60/non-member. Advance registration is required; register online through the calendar of events at the website or call 843.722.2996 x235.
