Aug. 6 “Paddleboard the Sewee Pond!” with “Nature Adventures” www.NatureAdventuresOutfitters.com
Sat. 10 AM Come try out the newest Paddlesport craze! SUP’s or Stand Up Paddleboards are fun for everyone!
A perfect location with guides on location and in the pond to help you! Try them out for only $5 each!

Proceeds will benefit an environmental cause! Just show up and the boards will be onsite to try!

Aug. 13 Discovery Series, FROGS, FROGS and MORE FROGS! Sat. 10 AM Frogs are not only fascinating creatures with their song & habits but an ally! They are insect-eating colorful machines! Learn about these amphibians and build a “frog house”!
Ages 6-12. Register by 8/10 @ 928-3368. Cost = $3.00.

Aug. 20 Sat. 10 AM Lecture Series, “Citizen-Science for Swallow-tailed Kites: A Conservation Success Story.” Maria Whitehead, research scientist with The Nature Conservancy & Jennifer McCarthey Tyrrell
research coordinator and educator at The Center for Birds of Prey will inform us on the bird's status and how citizens have aided in conservation efforts.

Aug. 21 Sun. 10 AM Lighthouse Tour in Cape Romain Wildlife Refuge! A slide presentation on the history of the two lighthouses will be given at the Sewee Center. Following the presentation, participants will drive to the McClellanville boat landing and board the Coastal Expeditions Island Cat Ferry at 11:30 to Lighthouse Island. Fee is $45.00 per person and limited to 40 passengers. Payment is by credit card only. Call 843/928-3368 to RESERVE!

Aug. 27 Let’s check out the “Beaver Pond” on Steed Creek Road only minutes from Sewee Center. Sat. 10 AM Wear long pants & tennis shoes. Bring a snack, drink & walking stick! No telling how long we’ll be captivated!
