Get Ready to Have Some Jaws-ome Fun at the South Carolina Aquarium! Shark Week 2011

Did you know you are more likely to get bitten by another person than by a shark?! Learn more fascinating facts, see sharks of all shapes and sizes, and participate in interactive activities as the South Carolina Aquarium highlights this amazing species during Shark Week 2011 kicking off July 29, 2011.

Details on all the fin-tastic fun:
Shark Week daily activities:

 Sharkeology Dig: Go on an archeology dig to find shark fossils and learn more about the body parts of sharks

 Shark Squares: Discovery famous shark species, see how fast a shark can swim, learn more about research projects happening at the Aquarium and more at these interactive stations located throughout the Aquarium

 Shark Shapes: Piece together a puzzle to figure out one of the shark species that lives in our Great Ocean Tank

 Shark Silhouettes: Look at two species of shark and learn what makes them different. Mix and match them to make your own super shark!

 Shark Stations: Look for stations around the Aquarium where you can get hands on with shark learning!

 Shark Coloring: What color will your shark be? Make sure to stop by our Shark Coloring Table in the Great Hall

 Interactive Shark-themed Dive Shows: Learn about all things sharks and how the Aquarium staff cares for sharks in our tanks

Shark, Rattle and Roll: Kick-off Shark Week with a night featuring live music, drinks and delicious bites. Shark, Rattle and Roll will benefit the education and conservation programs at the Aquarium,. Live music and food are included in the ticket price; the night will feature $1 drink specials.
 July 29, 2011, doors open at 7 p.m.

 Live music on the harbor deck from Emily Hearn, Occasional Milkshake and Ten Toes Up

 Several flowing bars featuring $1 drink specials

 Food including BBQ ribs and pulled pork tacos from Smoky Oak Taproom

 Tickets: $25 in advance, $30 at the door, $20 for Aquarium members

Shark Week Movie on the Lawn:Fall in love with your favorite classic shark movie all over again during Shark Week at the Aquarium's Movie on the Lawn! Free to the public, see 'Jaws' on the big screen with the sound of the ocean just beyond your seat.
 August 4, 2011, Lawn opens at 7 p.m.

 Before the movie, watch an Aquarium-made 'short' de-bunking shark myths

 Please bring your own chair or blanket

 Snacks, sodas and alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase

 No pets or coolers allowed

 Donations will be taken at the door to benefit the conservation efforts at the Aquarium
