The Broad Street Merchants Association will continue hosting “First Fridays on Broad” Art Walk on Friday, March 2nd, from 5pm – 8pm.

Come out and celebrate “Strollin’ Broad on Gallery Row” by enjoying a meca of fine art and refreshments in the boutiques, fine art galleries, and bodegas on Gallery Row – Historic Broad Street, Charleston’s Destination for Fine Art.

Spencer Gallery has expanded it’s salon style gallery, so be sure to stop by and see the new and improved space! Spencer Art Gallery I will host a reception for Cecilia Murray for recent pastel paintings of “Marsh Reflections” and Spencer Art Gallery II will host a reception for Laura Martindale’s new works titled “I Have A Story”.

Ellis-Nicholson Gallery welcomes Vicki Gates to the gallery with her exhibition “Paintings from the Heart.” People will view the artist’s work and know it comes from her heart because they will feel it in their own heart. Opening reception is March 2, 2012 5-8 during First Fridays on Broad and the exhibition can be viewed March 1-31.

COCO VIVO will feature one of America’s finest plein air artist, John Caggiano. “Painting in the low country is an experience not to be missed,” says John Caggiano. In this body of work the viewer will connect with a feeling or a memory, through the light, shadow and texture, that John’s work is known for.

Hamlet Fine Art will welcome new oil painter, Curtis Phillips, to its staple of artists. Visit with Curtiss the night of the walk and discuss his wonderful landscapes of Folly Beach, Kiawah and Daws Island.

Each doorway on Gallery Row offers you something special to treasure, be it a painting, a gift, or simply a wonderful memory. As you stroll from one gallery to another, enjoy the Southern charms of colorful flower boxes, enchanting hidden courtyards and gardens, and pristinely preserved architecture.
