8th Annual Charleston Carifest

June is Caribbean American Heritage Month and Carifest celebrates the deep lineage from the sea islands to the Lowcountry, heritage that dates back to the 17th century.

This year’s festival celebrates the people of Trinidad and Tobago, and Dr. Neil Parsan, Trinidad and Tobago’s Ambassador to the United States, will be the festival’s honored guest.

The festival will feature:

June 21 - A masquerade Fete at International Longshoreman's Hall

June 22 - A costumed parade through the streets of downtown Charleston that starts at the Visitor's Center at 3:00 PM, followed by a cultural extravaganza in Brittle Bank Park.

June 22 - A White Glow after party
