The 6th Annual Charleston Bed Race is set to take place on Sunday, March 22 at Blackbaud Stadium on Daniel Island. This annual event brings the Charleston community together by racing beds to raise money for childhood cancer through the non profit organization, Camp Happy Days. The local charity hosts a summer camp and other life-changing programs throughout the year for children in South Carolina battling cancer.
The Bed Race will begin with a parade of decorated beds at Blackbaud Stadium at 1:00 with the heated two-block race to follow. Beds will race in a time trial fashion two beds at a time. At the end of the race, awards will be given in a variety of categories, including Fastest Bed, Slowest Bed, Best Decorated Bed, Most Outrageously Decorated Bed, Best “What Were You Thinking” Bed, and the People’s Choice Award.
