3rd Annual Women in Art Lecture Series
Event Details
The Gibbes Museum of Art will celebrate the many contributions of women in art with a three-part lecture series slated for Wednesday evenings in November at the museum. Presented in partnership with the Center for Women, the Women in Art Lecture Series offers the opportunity for guests to hear from nationally renowned artists, scholars, and designers. Following each lecture, guests will enjoy a wine and cheese reception provided by Duvall Catering & Event Design, a chance to mingle with the speakers, and book signings on November 2 and 9. The November 2 lecture also kicks off the CFADA Charleston Fine Art Annual Weekend.

Renowned Charleston watercolorist Mary Whyte will share her insights on her upcoming Main Gallery exhibition Mary Whyte: Working South.
Wednesday, November 9, 6pm
Erica Hirshler, Curator of American Paintings at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, will discuss John Singer Sargent’s compelling masterpiece The Daughters of Edward D. Boit.
Wednesday, November 16, 6pm
New York-based interior designer to the stars, Mario Buatta will share his thoughts on home décor and style.
