Drayton Hall presents African-American spiritual music with two concerts by Ann Caldwell and The Magnolia Singers.
Ann Caldwell is a full-time vocalist, producer, and performing artist who has studied voice with June Bonner, former soprano with the Metropolitan Opera. The Magnolia Singers are an a capella vocal ensemble dedicated to the preservation and performance of early Southern music and spirituals.
These concerts are a rare opportunity to gather in the atmospheric raised English basement of Drayton Hall to hear music that could have been heard centuries ago in the surrounding fields and praise houses.
Saturday, December 7th, 4:30pm to 6:30pm
Sunday, December 8th, 3:00pm to 5:00pm
The evening begins with a catered reception and informal tours of the house by Drayton Hall's experienced museum guides, and is followed by the concert.
Reservations are required. Tickets are still only $35 for adults and $30 for Friends of Drayton Hall. Call the number listed for information and reservations. For group rates and information, call 843.769.2603.
