2015 Special Olympics Polar Plunge

On Saturday, February 28, locals and visitors are invited to take a plunge into the chilly waters at Isle of Palms Beach in front of the Windjammer, all to benefit Special Olympics South Carolina. Registration begins at 10:30 am, the plunge takes place at 1pm, and the plunge party will be held from 10:30am – 1pm. Plungers and spectators of all ages are invited to partake in the plunge party, which will include food, music, games and door prizes.

All proceeds from the event will benefit Special Olympics South Carolina, an organization that provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. The activities give these individuals continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.

A minimum donation of $50 is required to participate in the plunge. All plunge participants will receive a plunge T-shirt, tickets for free food and drinks, and a chance to win door prizes. Additional gifts will also be awarded based on totals raised for Special Olympics South Carolina.
