APRIL 3 –Special Olympics Spring Games. Charleston Southern University. For participants from Area Six - Charleston, Berkley and Dorchester counties. Contact Vicky Kerner at 856-2196.

APRIL 4 – Padi Discover Scuba Diving. Ages 10 & up. 6 – 10 p.m. R.L. Jones Center, Mount Pleasant. Fee: $45/resident; $52/non-resident. The PADI Discover Scuba Diving program lets participants experience the thrill of diving, while under the supervision of a PADI Professional in the pool. Participants will be introduced to basic scuba concepts and skills during this one-day class. Instructed by Atlantic Coast Dive Center staff.

APRIL 4 – Free Skateboarding Day. Mount Pleasant Skatepark (behind R.L. Jones Center), Mount Pleasant. Open to all ages. Try out MPRD’s SkateLite Pro Ramps for free! Participants must bring their own skateboard and safety equipment (helmet, knee pads and elbow pads). All skatepark rules and regulations apply. Participants must have a current, signed waiver on file.

APRIL 9 – Parent-Tot Picnic: “Spring is Here.” Free event. Ages 6 & under. 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Alhambra Park. Grab your picnic basket and blanket and head to the park for a fun-filled day. We provide cups, drinks and fun including a jump castle and unique craft projects. Rain date: April 16. Mount Pleasant Recreation Department.
