MAY 7 – PADI Discover Scuba Diving. For ages 10 and up. 6 – 10 p.m. R.L. Jones Center, Mount Pleasant. Fee: $45/resident; $52/non-resident. The PADI Discover Scuba Diving program lets you experience the thrill of diving under the supervision of a PADI Professional in the pool. During your adventure, you’ll be introduced to some basic scuba concepts and skills. Instructor: Atlantic Coast Dive Center. Call Atlantic Coast Dive Center at 884-1500 or Jeff Garrard at 884-2528

MAY 7 – Senior Bowling and Brunch Event. 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. Come join us for great food, fun and socialization the first Wednesday of each month at Twin Rivers Bowling Lanes. Call 849-2061 for more information. Contact Chuck Delorme at 856-2166

MAY 7 - Spring Carnival. 3 – 5 p.m. Alhambra Hall & Park. Free event. Join us for a spring celebration. We will have a jump castle, pony rides, face painting, crafts, and more exciting things for children of all ages to enjoy. Call Anne Selner at 884-2528

MAY 9 – Family Fun Night. 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. R.L. Jones Center, Mount Pleasant. Free event. Bring your friends and family for a night of swimming fun and games. Unwind in the pool after a hectic week of school and work. Floats and water toys are welcomed. Call 884-2528

MAY 9 –Senior Covered Dish Luncheon. 11:45 a.m. Alhambra Hall Senior Room, Mount Pleasant. Free program. Bring a side dish or dessert to share, and we will provide the main course. Newcomers welcome! MAY 10 – Free Skateboarding Day. Mount Pleasant Skatepark (behind R.L. Jones Center), Mount Pleasant. Try MPRD’s SkateLite Pro Ramps for free! Participants must bring their own skateboard and safety equipment (helmet, knee pads and elbow pads). All skatepark rules and regulations apply. Participants must have a current, signed waiver on file. Call 856-2196 for hours

MAY 16 – Family Fun Night. 7 – 8:30 p.m. Park West Pool, Mount Pleasant. Free event. Bring your friends and family for a night of swimming fun and games. Families are invited to unwind in the pool after a hectic week of school and work. Floats and water toys are welcomed. Call 856-2536

MAY 21 – Parent-Tot-Picnic – “Magical May.” 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Alhambra Park. Free event. Grab your picnic baskets and blankets and head to Park West for a fun-filled theme picnic with the Mount Pleasant Recreation Department. You bring your picnic lunch and blankets and we’ll supply the cups, drinks, crafts, and fun. For ages 6 and under. Rain date is May 28. Contact Anne Selner at 884-2528
