On Tuesday, January 5, 2010, in keeping with that stated mission, the Foundation proudly presents the international artist, Chris Botti and A Day of Jazz Music in Charleston. We begin this very special day at 11:00 am with a FREE admission, multi-media performance for elementary school age children, K5 through 3rd grade, of an original literary work entitled: The Little Boy Who Hated Jazz. Benefits to your students: • Live jazz music performance with professional musicians • Brief overview of classical jazz music • Brief history on the development of jazz music in South Carolina • Literary gift to relive the experience again and share it with others. Simply prepare a letter of acknowledgement...covering the following points: • Clearly state your district's need for on-going access to Cultural Programs for your children • Clearly state your interest in the project outlined • Provide the number of children to be involved in the project • List the geographic areas to be included • and finally, express your organization's interest in a collaborative project of this kind. Once you have submitted your letter to the Foundation you merely need to assemble the children, chaperons (1 adult for every 5 students) send along a electronic version of the commitment form to include a list with the full name of all attendees to skpfoundaiton@yahoo.com and you will be sent admission passes for the performance. The Foundation wanted to make it easy for you to involve the children under your care in a culture literacy event they will long remember and appreciate.
