The Charleston area hospitality industry honored five of its best at the Travel Council Annual Meeting held at the Charleston Area Convention Center Complex on Thursday, June 11, 2009. The keynote speaker was Millie Bratten, Editor-in-Chief of Brides magazine. Since the Charleston Area Convention & Visitors Bureau’s inception in 1985, the Golden Pineapple awards have served to recognize individuals in the tourism industry who have demonstrated exceptional leadership abilities for the future growth of the industry. Susan Lucas, King Street Marketing Group, Inc. for her leadership and creativity in the advancement of the shopping district on Upper King Street.
Linn Lesesne, Director of Sales, Charming Inns of Charleston, for her leadership in ongoing sales efforts to continue to attract meeting and group business.
