The Mary Helen McCoy Fine Antiques Selected as a Member of The National Antique & Art dealers Association of America Inc.

For Immediate Release, February 2009

The Charleston-based gallery, Mary Helen McCoy Fine Antiques, has been selected as a member of the highly prestigious National Antique & Art Dealers Association of America Inc. (NAADAA), a nonprofit trade association of America's leading dealers mutually pledged to safeguard the interests of those who buy, sell or collect antiques and works of art. "I am deeply gratified to have been selected as a member of this highly respected organization whose membership is limited to the leading authorities in the art and antiques world," Mary Helen McCoy, gallery founder and president said.

Many years of study and experience are necessary to acquire the specialized knowledge that has made NAADAA members recognized authorities in their fields. Founded in 1954, NAADAA is limited to only 44 members in major cities across the country. "Our members are the best of the best. They represent the pinnacle of their respective areas of expertise," said James McConnaughy, NAADAA President and a vice president of New York City-based, S.J. Shrubsole, one of the world's leading dealers in antique silver and jewelry.

The Association cooperates in organizing the highly acclaimed International Fine Art and Antique Dealers Show, and was instrumental in establishing it as the first vetted show in New York City. "The International Show", in which Mary Helen McCoy Fine Antiques exhibited this past fall, is considered the foremost antiques and fine arts event in the United States.

NAADAA is a member of La Confédération Internationale des Négociants en Oeuvres d"Art (CINOA), an organization comprised of the leading art and antique dealer associations in 13 countries. In addition to being the only member of NAADAA located in the South, Mary Helen McCoy Fine Antiques is a member of CINOA, one of only 15 firms in the United States to be a member of the Syndicat National des Antiquaires (SNA), and a member of The Art and Antique Dealers League of America, Inc. for which Mary Helen McCoy serves on the Board of Directors.

Former NAADAA President, Mark Schaffer, a principal of the New York City-based, A La Vieille Russie, Inc., said, "When a collector purchases something from a NAADAA member, they can be confident that it is of utmost quality and integrity. Each of our members is a recognized authority in his or her field and has earned a high reputation for integrity and fair dealing in all their transactions."
