Neighborhood Dining Group Raises $24,000 for Haiti Relief EffortsFor Immediate Release, February 2010
Due to the overwhelming support of the community and the matching funds of The Neighborhood Dining Group ownership team, $24,000 was raised for the American Red Cross Haiti Relief and Development Fund between January 15 and January 30, 2010. McCrady’s, Queen Anne’s Revenge and The Buccaneer in Charleston and Chicago’s in Roswell, Georgia, all participated in the fundraising efforts. “Thanks to the support of our community, and the generosity of our owners, we were able to come together a raise a sizeable amount of money. Hopefully it will help,” said Managing Partner David Howard.
“This is amazing…the most raised so far at an event in Charleston for Red Cross relief efforts in Haiti,” commented Louise Welch, CEO, American Red Cross, Carolina Lowcountry. The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies nearly half of the nation's blood; teaches lifesaving skills; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families. The Red Cross is a charitable organization — not a government agency — and depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its mission.
