Extended Summer Hours at the Charleston Museum Help Visitors Squeeze More into their Busy Charleston Itinerary
The Charleston Museum will offer extended summer hours during the months of July and August 2007. For this two-month period, the Museum will be open every Thursday evening until 7:00 p.m. All exhibit galleries will be open. The first and third Thursdays of July and August feature curator-led gallery talks at 5:30 p.m. Regular admission fees of $10 for adults and $5 for children 3-12 apply. About The Charleston Museum
The Charleston Museum, founded in 1773, is America's first museum. It is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Holding the most extensive collection of South Carolina cultural and scientific collections in the nation, it also owns two National Historic Landmark houses, the Heyward-Washington House (1772) and the Joseph Manigault House (1803), as well as the Dill Sanctuary, a 580-acre wildlife preserve. Museum hours are Monday-Saturday 9 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday 1-5 p.m. Museum admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children.
