For Immediate Release, March 2007http://www.noisyoysterseafood.com
Established in 1992 by longtime friends Wade Boals and Brett Yearout whose experiences in Charleston’s restaurant world inspired them to join forces and create Noisy Oyster Seafood Restaurant, the restaurant embraces the different dimensions of Charleston life—family, heritage and fine food from our region.
“Our goal was to create a quality, family friendly restaurant where people can enjoy fine local food in a casual setting,” explains Wade Boals.
With three dining establishments in historic downtown Charleston, North Charleston and Summerville, the restaurant prides itself on bringing the freshest local seafood and produce to the table. “The key to our success is quality,” explains Yearout, “The quality of food that we provide begins with our local farmers and fishermen who bring us fresh, local produce and seafood.”
The chefs of Noisy Oyster Seafood Restaurant have been delighting patrons’ palates for more than 14 years, creating the restaurant’s signature dishes, including the Noisy Oyster Seafood Steam Pot, which was featured on Food Network’s Hungry Detective, Baked Seafood Au Gratin and Shrimp Parmesan. Of course, the restaurant also serves up favorite Southern dishes … She Crab Soup, Shrimp & Grits and Lowcountry Crab Cakes.
An active member of the community, the proprietors have contributed time and funds to support area nonprofit organizations including East Cooper Meals on Wheels, a nonprofit organization serving the East of the Cooper area by delivering midday meals at no cost to those in need, and the Magdalene House of Charleston. The Magdalene House of Charleston serves as a home for women needing rehabilitation after recovering from serious drug addiction that have led them into prostitution. The house serves as the primary home for these women for two years where they receive counseling and other services to help them re-enter day to day life. One of the key financers of this organization, Boals and Yearout purchased the home where these women reside in and receive counseling.
Noisy Oyster Seafood Restaurant is a member of the Charleston Sustainable Seafood Initiative which supports local fishermen. The goal of this program is to promote wise seafood choices and the consumption of environmentally-friendly, locally caught seafood.
