Come out for the Friends of the Sculpture Lecture Series, "Clay Faces" with Guest Lecturer, Pamela Steele, South Carolina Art Education Association 2008-09 Art Educator of the Year.
Pamela hails from Gilbert, SC, is a retired Lexington District One art educator who works in schools and art programs throughout the state as a guest artist. Her three-dimensional work includes hand-built ceramic vessels, traditional face jugs, stoneware garden masks and other art forms native to South Carolina. In addition to ceramics, she creates pen-and-ink drawings that document rural life in Lexington County, and produces mixed-media two-dimensional works. She is the recipient of the 2008 - 2009 Art Educator of the Year, presented by the South Carolina Art Education Association.
Participating "Artist in Residence" Artisan of the Dorchester Two Schools Fine Arts Health and Wellness Program.
